This is my first sales job, fresh out of college.

I've been here for three and a half years.

Close to eight years now.

Just coming up on a year right now

Twelve and a half years.

You know a lot of people look at salesman as like a dirty word.

You weren't invited. The visit is completely unannounced. They're either going to yell at you, or they'll just slam the door in your face.

I've had good and bad experiences.

Sometimes it could take five, ten no's at the door just to hear them to get you out.

You can be in a sale, and it could take you up to two hours.

The training is awesome.

The company gives us all the tools we need to know our product.

They teach you what you have to sell, what you're selling against.

It wasn't as easy as I thought it was going to be.

You get to really try it in the office, you know, in a classroom setting first among your peers.

It'll teach you A to Z all the ingredients, all the products.

I'm still learning today. It never ends. It's amazing.

One of the things that I have within me is passion. Go up to a door fresh and introduce yourself, and get them to trust you and talk to you.

We need to get them to engage in a conversation.

You've got about 15 seconds to get their attention. You get maybe 30 to 45 second after that to get their interest. We have protected territories. You can't go and work my turf. It's my turf to work.

If you see your numbers going up every day on the board, it kind of, you know, you get all amped up.

The job can be tough.

From a family's point of view, there are some disadvantages working 12 o'clock in afternoon until 9 o'clock at night.

Initially, door-to-door sales can seem like maybe intimidating.

A dog came in, and it was a big German shepherd I think it was, and it was coming at me/ I was like, "Oh this is going to be bad."

If it is raining out, snowing out, it's 8:45, you've gotten fifteen no's in a row.

You have to be able to handle rejection in this job.

You just have to continue going.

The benefits are amazing. They really take good care of their employees.

We get free service as employees.

The training, the compensation, the benefits.

Definitely great benefits for the family.

I love the benefits. My family loves the benefits.

Medical, dental, 401K, pension, life insurance. I mean, everything that you can think of that you want in a company, you have here.

I typically start my check-in around noon. So I come in and basically do my paperwork from the night before.

I get to the office about 10:30, 11 o'clock-ish. I basically just try to map out my day, be really organized. I try to make a lot of phone calls with customers.

Usually, I start knocking anywhere between 3:00 and 3:30.

I try to knock on 40 doors a day.

Give presentations to about five, six people a day.

Once you get an early sale, the rest of the day is that much easier because now you're really pushing for a second and a third sale.

I usually work until 9 o'clock in the evening.

Basically just knock right up until the final bell.

Having the Cablevision triple play, to be able to go and sell at the door is a salesman's dream.

We crush the phone company. Crush them as far as local news, local sports.

There are not that many companies out there that will pay somebody to come to your home and explain everything in person and customize a package that's best for you.

You have to be confident in what you do.

Very resilient, very persistent, and unwavering in your trying to get them to listen to you, and insistent on them hearing you out.

Dedication and having a positive attitude.

Just being genuine.

If you don't have that mindset to be optimistic and be positive and be goal oriented, you're not going to make it.

There's the potential to make some serious money here.

I was tired of living paycheck to paycheck.

You're going to pay me a salary plus commission for doing this? When do I start?

You have the ability of making over six figures. Absolutely.

A month into the field you could be making that 15, 20,000 right off the bat.

It's a lifestyle change. If your goal is to travel a lot, you can set up vacations and pay for them. If you're that goal oriented, you can definitely make enough money to make any of your dreams come true.

I've been able to provide a nice life for my family and my children.

I bought a new car the first month that I worked here.

Bought my own house.

My daughter's in college.

I bought my first house the first year that I was at Cablevision, and that was at the age of 23.

There's no cap. There's no one telling you, "No you've reached your goal, your limit. You can't go further."

Don't be satisfied with that $40,000, okay. If you're here to make $40,000 a year, this isn't the job for you, okay? You can make four or five times that amount.

So it's been a tremendous experience for me.

I even tell my customers this is the best company to work for.

I will never leave this job. They will have to take me out of here feet first when I go.

I've done this job through two pregnancies, so nothing's really stopping me.

The company's awesome. It has put all my dreams to realization.

Come on board. It's Optimum or it's not.
